What every Reflector should know about their Lunar Cycle
How you experience your Lunar Cycle as a Reflector is going to be unique to you. It's your own personal 28-day rhythm that ebbs and flows, with the Moon's movements. That said, from cycle to cycle it is quite stable and consistent because it's based on:
- your natal gates (which never change) and
- the Moon's transits through all 64 gates, which happens in the same order and the same pace every 28 days
The strategy for all Reflectors is to wait 28 days. To be exact, it's actually 27.3 days: that's how long it takes for the Moon to move through all 64 gates in the sidereal calendar. That's roughly 10 hours in each gate.
For you Reflector, your chart is full of hanging channels. You have many gates defined, but no completed channels. That's what makes you a Reflector.
When the Moon transits through a gate that is adjacent to one of your gates, it activates. It lights up the channel, and both centers that channel is connected to.
So every 27.3 days, as the Moon lights up a new gate every 10 hours, each time a hanging channel of yours is activated by the Moon it brings out the same Types in you every time.
Surprise! You are not just one Type
Through the Lunar Cycle, all Reflectors get to experience life as other Types (ie. Generator, Projector, Manifestor, Manifesting Generator). How much of each Type depends entirely on your gates.

Every one of the 64 gates is in this table, so every Reflector gets at least one kind of window every cycle. Four gates appear twice because they have more than one channel partner: 10 and 57 can give Generator or Projector, 20 can give Projector or Manifesting Generator, and 34 can give Generator or Manifesting Generator, depending on which gate the Moon arrives in.
A completed channel that links a motor to the Throat without the Sacral is a Manifestor window; the Sacral linked to the Throat is Manifesting Generator; any other channel that defines the Sacral is Generator; every other channel is Projector.

FAQ
Why are you saying the Lunar Cycle is 27.3 days long? I thought the Moon cycle is 29 days long from full moon to full moon?
The cycle that matters for a Reflector is where the Moon is, not how it looks. The 64 gates are fixed slices of the sky, and the Moon passes through all of them and returns to the same one every 27.3 days. That's the sidereal month. It never waits for the Sun, which is why it's shorter, and why the gate the Moon is in has nothing to do with its phase: a full moon can fall on any gate at all.
"Wait 28 days" is the Reflector strategy rounded to a whole number. The precise figure is 27.3, and it's the sidereal cycle Ra was pointing at, not the phase cycle.
Both numbers are right; they measure different things. Full moon to full moon is 29.5 days, and it's about how the Moon looks: how much of it the Sun is lighting from where we stand. Because the Sun is also moving through the sky, the Moon needs an extra two days each month to catch it up and get back to full. That's the synodic month, the one on every calendar.
Am I actually a Generator on a Generator day?
Your Type is still a Reflector but your definitions change with the Moon. When the Moon completes a channel and the two centres it's connected to become defined, for that window your body runs on the mechanics a Generator's body runs on all the time. The Forecast labels all of these windows for you so you always know when the different Type mechanics are accessible for you.
How is this different from other lunar transit tracking tools?
The tools that exist show you the Moon's position right now, or hand you a spreadsheet of gate changes and leave the cross-checking to you. Both still require you to look several times a day and work out which of your channels just completed. The Forecast does that computation for your chart in advance and puts the result on a calendar, so the tracking is finished before the month starts, and you can read a whole cycle at a glance instead of one moment at a time. The Forecast also comes with a beginner-friendly guide so you'll have all the information you need to be able to apply the transits to your life.
Can I do this myself?
Yes. You can combine many other information sources together to build your own transit tracking tools. You can look up the Moon's gate in an ephemeris or a transit app like Neutrino, check whether it's the partner of one of your natal gates, note the channel and the centres it defines, and repeat every ten hours or so for 28 days. Then do it again next cycle to see the dates move. Genetic Matrix also offers a monthly spreadsheet that you can use to track your transits.
Why only the Moon? Other planets transit too.
They do, and they complete channels the same way, over days, weeks or months instead of hours. The Moon is the fastest-moving body and the one Ra Uru Hu identified as a Reflector's authority; its 27.3-day loop is what "wait a lunar cycle" refers to. The Forecast tracks the Moon only. It won't show you a Jupiter transit yet. Ra Uru Hu did say that when a planet activates a Reflector's hanging gate it is six times more powerful than for any other Type.
How do I know it's right?
The Moon's position comes from the Swiss Ephemeris, the same data professional astrology software uses, such as Genetic Matrix's transit spreadsheets.
Do I follow Sacral authority in a Generator window?
The window tells you what's defined and what Authority that definition carries. What you do with it is yours to experiment with. Your strategy is still to wait a lunar cycle for big decisions, however a Sacral Generator window for example is an opportunity to see what a gut response feels like. If you're in the process of waiting 28 days for a big decision, I'd recommend you run that decision through the authority of your current Type. There are many other Authority types that your Forecast will reveal for you to experiment with.
What if I don't know my birth time?
Get as close as you can. Your birth certificate is the usual source. An hour of error will shift your windows by a few hours, which matters more for the short Manifestor windows than for anything else. If you have no idea at all, the split will still be roughly right but the dates will not be worth trusting.

I built this tool for myself after getting frustrated with other lunar cycle tracking tools out there.
While I was doing a Messaging course with Christie Inge, one of the exercises I got stuck on was on the value of one's Defined Channels and Defined Centers, specifically the value they've given to the people around us. While other Types had a ton of material to draw on, the instructions for Reflectors were like a sad footnote: check the Lunar cycles against your gates, see what centers appear most often, and take note of the themes.
But one does not simply track a Reflector's lunar cycle.
I had tried using the Neutrino app. I could see how the Moon affected my bodygraph at the current moment, but I was so overloaded with information I couldn't retain anything meaningful.
And then I tried subscribing to Genetic Matrix, downloading my lunar transits as a CSV, getting confused over if my gates were the orange ones or not, and then having to cross check that with my bodygraph to see what centers were active. I couldn't sustain that strategy either. (They've since made improvements!)
I absolutely did not want to chart my lunar transits against my bodygraph every day, multiple times a day, for months and months and months. Taking notes, journaling, making observations. Just to hopefully make sense of what gate connected with what, to activate which center, just to find a hint of a pattern.
So if another Type has very casually dropped the advice "just track your transits" as if that was not an epic undertaking, this tool is here for you.
